Watched Charlie Chaplin's 1925 Silent Film The Gold Rush

"A day without laughter is a day wasted."
--Charlie Chaplin
Charlie Chaplin wrote, produced, and directed The Gold Rush, a film about a man that tries his hand at prospecting and journeys to the Yukon during the Klondike Gold Rush. This is considered a great film and is #58 on the AFI 100.
When it comes to this movie, I don't think I can say enough great things about Charlie Chaplin. He is outstanding. While stuck in a cabin and trying to survive without food, his character cooks his shoe and carves it up to eat it. He strings it up like spaghetti.

In this famous scene, he performs the Oceana Roll with two bread rolls with forks. This has been used and reused in countless other media.

This is my new favorite silent movie. It's wonderful. Charlie Chaplin is so amazing in this film I want to watch it again and again. Luckily, I can because it's on Netflix streaming. If you haven't seen this film, don't wait. Just watch it. It's great!
