Finished a Sub-8 Minute Fran
January 05, 2011 Filed in: CrossFit

Fran is THE CrossFit standard workout. It’s a workout that produces a ton of power output (lots of work in a little amount of time). The workout as prescribed is:
Three rounds, 21-15- and 9 reps, for time of:
95 pound Thruster
Pull-ups
Because it combines a weightlifting movement with a body-weight gymnastics style movement, it punishes both big and small athletes.
I have done this workout a few times, but today, I finally got a time that was under 8 minutes (7:46). I felt like my lungs were going to burst, and I had a sore throat for the rest of the day from the heavy coughing (the almost puking, gag effect I get) following the workout. I wish this was an exaggeration.
That being said, the best guys in the world do it in around 2 minutes. So, I have a lot of room for improvement. :) See you at sub-7!
