Folded A Secret Note Square

“Keep it secret. Keep it safe.”

Sometime this afternoon, I wasn’t feeling too good. I spent most of the evening lying down and resting. While I was in bed, J found instructions on how to make a standard 8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper into a small square for secret notes.
I started with a piece of paper with a message written on it.

I folded it lengthwise.

I folded it lengthwise again.

Then, I folded triangles on each side by folding them over diagonally.

The next fold was to move each triangle over diagonally again, forming a thin parallelogram on each end.

After folding the parallelograms in, it started to look more like a square.

The last bit is all about tucking the triangles underneath the opposite sides.

I don’t pass secret notes around often, but the next time I do, I know how to fold them. It’s compact and fairly quick to do this (the site we learned this from also notes it's a good way to just carry lists around without taking up too much space).
