Made A Demo Reel

Earlier this week, I was told by my managers that there was a chance that there would be no work for me after this week. Facing the possibility of being laid off soon, I thought it might be a good time to get prepared to look for another job.

To get a job anywhere, I knew I'd need to update my resume, but in addition to that, in my industry, it's very difficult to get a position as a Creature Technical Director without a demo reel. When I first came to
ILM, I got a position as a graveyard render technical assistant, which was awesome, but I didn't need a reel to get that position.

I requested a DVD with all the shots I worked on a little while ago, and it came about a week later. What's kind of cool about the demo reel is that it evolves over time. Hopefully, I'll get to work on more impressive stuff to put on it, but for now, I've got work from all three Transformers movies and an animated feature. Not too bad!

I put together some of my work tonight and uploaded it to YouTube:
