Squatted 350 Pounds

Back when I started doing CrossFit, I knew nothing about doing squats. My first time doing 1 rep max back squats, I lifted 175 lbs. That was in June of 2009. Today, I doubled it. It’s also double my bodyweight.
I warmed up with a few sets of squats beforehand until I felt I was ready to go. I loaded up the bar.


Before I attempt a lift, I usually try to compose myself and then engage my core.

I put myself under the bar. It was heavy.

I squatted with it. For a split second I thought I wasn’t coming up with it.

There was a moment I got stuck at.

I completed the lift. It was tough. I grunted and pushed.

I am very proud. This was a tough accomplishment for me. I actually tried to do it a few weeks ago. It was nice to actually push through that barrier. The fact that I had to work so hard for it made it so satisfying.
