Used the “Game Changer” App (299/366)
“I wanted to be a composer before anything else. And my sister was listening to Led Zeppelin in the other room! When I heard that, it was a game-changer.”
~ Steve Vai
Yesterday, I scored a baseball game for the first time. It was super cool, totally interesting, and extremely stressful, all at one time.
But it was also FUN. I really enjoyed marking down every single play that occurred in the game (of course, it was an absolutely perfect game to be scoring, as well – Let’s Go, Giants!); but it got me thinking: just like everything else, “is there an app for that?”
Turns out, there is! So I downloaded the GameChanger app today and checked it out.
You can use Game Changer for baseball, softball, or basketball, and you can create your own roster or search for existing teams

The intro screens were easy to understand, the user experience looks pretty intuitive, and the app seems to have so much cool functionality! Real-time score publishing that people can subscribe to? This is awesome!

You create your team (sign up for an account if you want people to be able to follow your scoring), and then add players to the roster. Hmm, who to add first …

You build your roster, and then you can assign your players to their positions for the upcoming game. Super easy and very cool!

I had a lot of fun exploring this app. It brings a sort of “more modern” aspect to the time-honored tradition of scoring baseball games. Setting the players up, the ease of use of the functions, and the robust features all make this a very exciting tool. I can’t wait to use this more! Let’s play ball!

Ver-r-r-r-r-y interesting! I know how to score on paper a little and would like to practice that more.
Go, Giants!
It really is fun, but like I said, kinda stressful, at least when you’re just learning. It’s just because the game goes so fast when you’re trying to watch *and* write EVERYTHING down (and trying to *remember* how to write it all down)!
Very cool that it’s generalized to support Little League games and such too. Neat!
Yeah! I can just imagine how cool it would be for the parents who have to score and file records of the games! Ha ha ha no more lugging around a scoring sheets, clipboards, pencils, and an accordion file folder! ;D
