Joined Pair (295/366)

295PairTop “Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow.”
William Shakespeare

Ever had a long-distance relationship?  Well, now you don’t have to be hundreds or thousands of miles away from your love to have your own special connection together, through your other best friend in the whole world – your phone.  Ha ha ha!

Pair is a new app that basically creates a “social network” setup between you and your significant other – you can share links, messages, doodles, etc. – all through a channel that’s only between the two of you.

Nick was actually the one who found it – he sent me an invite earlier today, which prompted me to download the app and connect to his account:

He said it seemed cool, so I figured I’d check it out.  Here’s some of the app store description:

I have on a few occasions accidentally sent texts or chat messages to people other than Nick (ha ha ha thankfully nothing embarrassing, but still), so the app sounded interesting.  Once I downloaded it, I got the “Pair Up” screen, letting me know I had a connection with Nick available.  It was super easy to get set up.

In the menu bar, there are a few use categories – ha – great idea to put important dates in, so you don’t forget a birthday or anniversary!  I like that the app is pretty much streamlined though – “Shared Tasks” is another great feature, and “Moments” is where the pics, videos, and doodles sent between the two of you are stored.

The thing I’m most excited about is the Shared Tasks.  When you add or cross things off, your pair partner gets a notification and the lists are updated.  Rad.  And finally, there’s a security code option available for Pair, so snoops can’t nose around in your personal stuff.  Ha – cute that the code appears as hearts.

Well, while at first I thought the idea sounded a little funny (our *own* private, “social network”?), I do like this kind of direct access line.  If you have someone you’d like to have this with, I suggest you Pair up!  Ha ha ha!

*Update*
The Pair app has been renamed Couple – the links in this post have been updated (but not the original name, as that was what the app was called when this was written).  You can still “Couple up” – Ha!
