Been to the Bally’s Sterling Brunch (162/366)

Bally’s Sterling Brunch.  The Godfather of all brunches on the Vegas strip.  Last year when Nick and I visited Vegas, we didn’t get a chance to come to this epic gastronomical experience, so this year when we planned a trip to Vegas, I made sure Bally’s Sterling Brunch was on the itinerary.

There are a lot of great buffets in Vegas.  Last year, Nick and I even took on the Buffet of Buffets.  That was an epic gastronomical experience on its own – and there were some good ones in there, definitely.  But Bally’s Sterling Brunch is legendary.  Most Champagne brunch buffets are around $30 and they’re fun.  Bally’s is $85, which yes, is quite a bit more … but it’s also quite a bit more AWESOME.

Whew!  I say “sample menu” because some of the dishes do change periodically, but don’t worry – most of them, including the stars, the Filet Mignon, Maine Lobster, Caviar, and of course the Perrier Jouët are always being served.

The service is professional without being stuffy, genuinely friendly, and attentive without being invasive.  Most people who enjoy the Sterling Brunch camp out for as long as the buffet is served, so it’s kind of expected, and no one rushes you at all.  The Champagne flows freely (you have to tell your server if you DON’T want a refill for a while), and there is just a dizzying array of super high quality selections.

We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and although yes, this brunch is expensive, for the service and the quality, I think it’s well worth the price.  I will definitely be back the next time we visit Las Vegas.
